Wedding Day Prep
Katie and the girls enjoyed their morning getting hair and make ready at the church. Once everyone was dressed and ready we headed to out to the church property for bridal and group portraits.
Katie had so many beautiful wedding day details!
Katie's mother and sister helping her into the wedding dress. We love capturing moments with parents before the ceremony.
Joel had a relaxing morning with his groomsmen at his brothers residence. Then later headed to the church for a first look with Katie.
The first look was held at the Messiah Lutheran Church. We found quiet spot under the trees for Katie and Joel to enjoy this moment.
Katie made her way through the trees and tapped Joel on the shoulder. We think his reaction was so sweet and priceless.
The Ceremony:
Katie and Joel planned a traditional ceremony held at Messiah Lutheran Church. The church held meaning for Katie as it was the church her grandmother attended.
Katie and Joel had the sweetest flower girl and ring bearer. The flower girl needed a little extra help making it down the aisle.
Joel's reaction to Katie walking down the aisle was such a special moment.

Right after the ceremony the wedding party headed to Riverside Park near downtown Grand Rapids for a few photos! It was a beautiful summer afternoon and the group was upbeat and ready to have a good time.
The Reception
After a few photos in the park with the bridal party everyone headed to The English Hills Event Center in Grand Rapids, MI. They made their grand entrance to the reception then went straight into toasts and prayer before dinner. The guests enjoyed the open dance floor after the first dances and we finished the evening off with sunset photos in the English Hills garden.
