Bringing the Mountains to Michigan // Nick and Kayla

We met Kayla and Nick for the first time during the Fall of 2021 for their Engagement session on Lake Michigan. They were in town from Colorado visiting family, we talked all about their wedding day plans and how they really wanted to bring the spirit of Colorado back to Michigan with them to share with their family and friends.
When we arrived at Northlake Weddings and Events in Berrien Springs we found the girls in the bridal suite getting hair and makeup ready while enjoying mimosas and a beautiful charcuterie arrangement. The mood was light and you could feel the excitement in the air. We knew this was going to be a wonderful day!

Nick and the groomsmen were in the grooms suite just across the reception hall from the bridal suite playing video games, laughing and meeting the overall great energy of the day!
The beautiful apple orchard at Northlake was the perfect place for Nick and Kayla to share their first look!
The ceremony was held just outside the reception hall at Northlake Weddings and Events. The stunning backdrop of fall colors on Northlake was breathtaking, there was a chilly breeze, but the sun shined just bright enough to keep everyone warm.
The Reception hall at Northlake is beautiful! A comfortably large room with the head table located in front of the beautiful stone fireplace. Nick and Kayla carefully chose table decorations to represent their bringing the mountains to Michigan theme. In the center of each table they beautiful wooden mountain silhouette table numbers surrounded by greenery and romantic candles. Between the beautiful decor and lodge like building we truly did feel like we could have been in the mountains.
Nick and Kayla made their grand entrance into the reception then headed to the cake table for the traditional cake cutting ceremony. Shortly after guests were dismissed for dinner while we snuck out with Kayla and Nick for a few Sunset photos. Upon arrival back to the reception Kayla's father opened up toasts to the newlyweds with a beautiful heartfelt speech followed by their close friends.
As the reception deepened into the night everyone was on the dance floor! Family and friends laughing, dancing and in full celebration; no better way to end a wonderful day!
